We put together an intro video on key things to look for in supplements for pain relief : sourcing, dosage and absorption. Take a peek !

Knowing your type of pain is essential to finding the optimal supplement for pain

Inflammation, Nerve and Mechanical pain each require different sets of supplements and treatments

It’s important to match your supplements for pain to the underlying cause of pain you are suffering from. For instance, taking supplements to reduce inflammation pain when the underlying issue is a nerve condition doesn’t get to the heart of your pain issue.

If your pain occurs in all ranges of motion, all the time, without “zinging” you are probably suffering from an Inflammatory Condition. Supplements shown to help with inflammation conditions are :

  • Turmeric
  • Omega3 Fish Oil
  • Chelated Magnesium

If your pain is accompanied with that numbness or electrical zinging, then you are likely suffering from a Nerve Pain Condition.

Studies have shown that the key supplements for Nerve Pain are :

  • Methyl B Complex
  • Omega3 Fish Oil
  • Chelated Magnesium
  • Alpha Lipoic Acid

If your pain only occurs in certain times of day, or only after certain activities, or only in certain ranges of motion, then you’re probably looking at a Mechanical Condition.  Supplements than can best help mechanical based pain are

  • Collagen Peptides
  • Chelated Magnesium
  • Mitochondrial Support

Take a peek at the videos below for more info on supplements for pain.

COLLAGEN

For joint pain, muscle pain, post-workout recovery, you might be taking collagen or are thinking about taking collagen as a supplement for joint pain.

When you’re looking for collagen as a solution for any of the above, it’s important to find the right kind of collagen : there’s plenty of collagen out there for hair, nails and skin but they aren’t necessarily formulated or properly dosaged for effective joint and muscle support.

Look for collagen that’s specifically formulated for joint support.

Most of the collagen on the market is in the form of a larger molecule, making it harder for the body to absorb. With the large doses necessary for pain relief and joint support, taking that much of the large molecule could overstress your kidneys.

OMEGA3 FISH OIL

FISH OIL

Fish oil is a versatile supplement for pain, generally recommended for cardio-vascular, brain, overall tissue, and arterial health and so much more.

If you’re taking Fish Oil and aren’t getting the benefits you should be getting, look out for dosage, manufacturing sources and sustainability.

DOSAGE

On the back of the fish oil bottle you’re thinking of  taking, look for EPA and DHA, the two active ingredients in Fish Oil. You’re looking to take 1200 to 1800 mgs a day.  The Fish Oil supplements you’re looking at might be 800 mg per capsule, but they might only contain 400mg of EPA and/or DHA, forcing you to take 3 to 4 pills a day.

If you’d like to learn more about rancidity in fish oil and how to avoid it, sustainability and reducing the fishy after taste, watch the video to the left. And if you’d like, feel free check out the Kinetix365 Omega3 Fish Oil for yourself.

LIPOIC ACID

For nerve issues, especially in the hands and feet, one supplement for nerve pain that can help is Lipoic Acid.

Studies have shown that you’re looking to target taking around 400-600mg a day of Lipoic Acid to provide effective relief for nerve issues.

If you’d like to give Kinetix365 Lipoic Acid a try, ours is specially formulated not only to support nerve system functions but also to calm down nervous system over-reactivity to outside stresses.

CHELATED MAGNESIUM

For muscle cramps, post-workouts recovery, overall physical stress and tension, magnesium in a lot of ways is the most versatile supplement for pain.

Magnesium is food to muscles as calcium is food to  bones so it can help with muscle intensive activities.

If you’re already taking magnesium for the above but you’re not getting the results you expect there’s a few common things that could be happening.

ABSORPTION

Magnesium is another one of those supplements, that with the wrong formulation, can be difficult for the body to absorb.  And with the higher doses needed for Magnesium to be used for pain relief, the wrong formulation could lead to unpleasant intestinal side effects.

In using Magnesium for pain relief, you are looking for Magnesium Chelate or Glycinate, the types of Magnesium best absorbed by the body.

Magnesium Oxide or Citrate, for the higher doses needed for pain relief, could be problematic.

DOSAGE

200 – 400mg of magnesium taken for relaxation, won’t have the desired effects for muscle soreness and cramps and muscle pain.  The effective dose for pain relief for magnesium is closer to 600 mg a day of either Magnesium Glycinate or Chelate.

SOURCING

Some manufacturers don’t have as pure a formulation or have more additives in their magnesium.  High quality magnesium is necessary to optimize magnesium absorption by the body. If you’re currently taking magnesium and you’re experiencing loose stools, then switching your magnesium to a better source or to Chelate or Glycinate could alleviate that unpleasantness.

Kinetix365 Chelated Magnesium is specifically formulated to avoid all of these issues. Please feel free to check it out for yoruself.

MITOCHONDRIAL SUPPORT

Effectively combatting fatigue or looking for more energy at the cellular level requires a multi-vitamin optimized to feed what your mitochondria need. Mitochondria are the powerhouse energy centers inside of each cell, and giving them the support they need can give you the energy support you’re looking for in your life.

Kinetix365 Mitochondrial Support might just be the optimized multi-vitamin you’re looking for to combat fatigue and boost your energy levels.

STRESS SUPPORT

The constant ongoing stresses of modern life can overwhelm the body’s capacity to deal with those stresses.

If you’ve been under continual stress for too long, your adrenal glands will get overworked, reducing your capacity to manage the demands of your daily life.

Kinetix365 Stress Support is a multi-vitamin/mineral/herbal supplement targeted to best support your adrenal glands and the way they react to outside stressors. Our Stress Support supplement supports the adrenal glands capacity to make the needed hormones but also diminish the effect of triggers that keep stressing your adrenal glands.

If you’ve been looking for a formula that will best help you deal with a demanding lifestyle, take a peek at Kinetix365 Stress Support.

TURMERIC

If you’re looking to take turmeric as a supplement for pain, there are a few things to know beyond using it as a spice or a flavoring.

DOSAGE

Especially for inflammation support, it’s not enough to use turmeric as a spice or as flavoring on food. The dosage for  therapeutic effects  is  close to 1200 mg of turmeric a day.

ABSORPTION

In addition, Turmeric is notoriously difficult for your body to absorb, not only into the bloodstream but more importantly down to the cellular level. If you’ve done some research on your own on Turmeric, you may have read that Turmeric needs to be cooked with ghee or with black pepper for the body to absorb it – which is all true.

Turmeric extract is really difficult for the body to absorb.

If you already have a Turmeric supplement or are looking to get it locally, look for a Turmeric supplement that uses curcuminoids to aid in absorption of the turmeric extract by the body.

We proudly call our Turmeric “Super Turmeric” because we’ve found that it’s the most effective at absorption by the body, not just into the bloodstream but also down to the cellular level.

It’s important to ask your physician if turmeric is right for you as it can interact with certain pharmaceutical drugs ( especially blood thinners ) and alter their effect.

TOPICAL CREAM

TOPICAL CREAM

Muscle soreness after a workout or at the end of a long day of physical exertion is pretty typical.

A topical cream can definitely help with that muscle soreness, and if you’re already using a cream that works for you, great!

But if your topical cream just isn’t as effective as you’d hope, take a peek at Kineti-balm.

In addition to the warming properties of menthol, a common ingredient in a lot of  topical creams, Kineti-balm also includes Arnica, MSM and Magnesium to increase blood flow to the muscle to help it relax on an intra-cellular level.

If you’re looking for something more with a topical cream, please give Kineti-Balm a try.
